FAQ

What types of hay do you offer? +
We offer both timothy and orchard hay in first and second cut varieties, along with alfalfa and a tasty blend. Each type offers a unique texture and nutrient profile. All hay is farm-fresh, sun-dried, and carefully packed to ensure quality, freshness, and variety in every box.
What’s an ideal diet for my bunnies and guinea pigs? +
A balanced diet for your small pet should consist of 80–90% hay, which is essential for digestion and dental health. Fresh vegetables should make up about 5–10% of their diet, offering key vitamins and hydration. Another 5% can come from high-quality pellets. Fruits and treats are important too, but should only be fed in small amounts. Don’t forget to always provide unlimited fresh water!
What's the difference between types of hay? +

First Cut Timothy Hay
High in fiber and low in protein, ideal for adult pets. Coarse texture with thick stems and large seed heads, great for dental health.

Second Cut Timothy Hay
Softer with finer stems and more leaves. Easier to chew while still supporting digestion and dental care.

First Cut Orchard Grass
A timothy alternative with coarse strands, large seed heads, and fibrous texture—perfect for promoting chewing and digestion.

Second Cut Orchard Grass
Softer orchard hay with thin stems and fewer seed heads. Gentle on teeth and ideal for daily feeding.

Alfalfa Hay
High in calcium and protein, ideal for growing pets but limited for adults. Dense and leafy, great for young rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas.

Where is your hay grown and harvested? +
All of our hay is grown on a handful of small Ontario farms. It’s organically grown, sun-dried, and free from preservatives, acids, or additives—just pure, natural hay, harvested with care for your pets.
How do I store hay to keep it fresh, and what’s the shelf life? +
Store your hay in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture, ideally in a breathable container. When stored properly, our hay stays fresh for up to 12 months.
